Technical Director and Co-Founder
In 1983 Steve was described by the Guardian newspaper as a computer whizz-kid – and this is what a whizz-kid becomes when they grow up. He loves technology and grew up programming Dragon 32 and Sharp MZ-80K home computers, but of course eventually the PC reigned supreme. He later took up Bjarne Stroustroup’s C++ using the Zortech C++ compiler to write Windows 16 bit applications.
Pete started at Enterprise Study in 2007 and joined the board a year later. Initially his focus was on the development team and improving quality and reliability, both of the product itself and of our internal processes. Since taking over as Client Services Director he has had two main aims.
The first is to drive continual improvement within support so that our customers feel connected to an open and accessible team; they are always kept informed and they trust us to deal with issues promptly and appropriately.
The second aim is to ensure that all new clients have a positive experience when joining the Enterprise Study community, so they can quickly realise the benefits they were looking for in choosing us. They will want to stay with us beyond their initial contracts and will be happy to recommend us to other potential clients.
Although a Geordie, he has lived ‘doon sowth’ so long he has lost the accent. He is married with two children and enjoys walking in the Cotswolds, playing guitar and cooking – especially Turkish and Lebanese food.
Mike was an early stage investor and has been a non-executive director since 2003.
The first part of Mikes's career was as a research scientist at Harwell and this was followed by over thirty years in IT and training. His first roles in IT were at Intel: UK Systems Engineering Manager and USA Training Manager based in Silicon Valley. In 1985 he co-founded QA Training to provide technical IT training based on the emerging Intel-based PC. QA was sold in 1994 and Mike left his role as MD in 1997 after a three year retainer period.
Mike then followed his two business passions of IT and education, making investments and taking non-executive roles in early stage companies. His involvement in education also included serving as Chair of Governors of Bibury Primary School and Cirencester Sixth Form College.
Mike has lived in Bibury for over twenty years with his wife; he has three children and a lot of animals! He is an enthusiastic (well most of the time) vegetable gardener, enjoys photography, sailing, and astronomy. Two projects which are taking up Mikes's time at the moment are the creation of a wildflower meadow and designing an astronomical observatory.
The Sales And Marketing Team
Kerrim joined as a Telesales Executive in late 2016, and already has a vast amount of experience in sales since graduating from University. His role of generating new business opportunities is primarily conducted through, prospecting, pitching, calling potential new clients and building relationships with prospective customers.
His planning and organisations skills are most definitely a key part of the role which he relishes and although a new industry to him, he’s already coming to terms with the complexities of the industry. His passion for communicating with veracity is crucial, as coming across many different customers with an array of personalities is an interesting scenario, but he has passed it with aplomb.
As an avid football fan, he loves nothing more than watching the beloved Arsenal on the weekend. If they aren’t playing, he’s got the choice of activating his creative side through drawing, or socialising over a few pints!
Having previously worked for 8 years in the NHS as a customer of Enterprise Study, Claire joined the Enterprise Study team in 2016 to impart her knowledge and experience to Enterprise Study customers. Claire has a great deal of experience working with the Enterprise Study LMS from a user end and has in depth knowledge of the functionality and data extraction processes as well as lots of ideas for best practice.
Claire’s raison d'être is to arm our customers with the knowledge and skills to ensure that they get the best use out of the system whilst keeping admin time to a minimum without compromising data integrity.
In her spare time Claire enjoys yoga, socialising, cooking and sampling the delights of the many Gin and Tonics that Cheltenham’s bars offer!
Head of Sales and Marketing
Mark joined the company in 2008 to undertake the running of The Learning Network. This has since grown from a mere 10 suppliers to a whopping 160+. He also oversees all commercial items and discussions, whilst building strong, long lasting relationships (with lots of fun and laughter along the way!) to ensure our customers are always happy. Self confessed non-techie, he can often be found badgering the development team or taking clients out for 'working' lunches. In his spare time he enjoys developing properties, socialising and keeping his fluid levels topped up with copious amounts of wine!
The Development Team
Andy joined the development team in early 2015 and with 10 years’ experience in .NET and web development, he brings with him the wealth of using all previous version of the .NET framework. He’s worked within a range of industries which include Education, Insurance and others involved in people development and learning management.
Andy lives in Gloucester and enjoys the 24 miles a day commute by bicycle, so apart from being a keen cyclist, also enjoys cooking, DIY, Formula 1 and American Football. He also has a daughter who has just past her 1st birthday so she keeps him on his toes.
David joined the company in 2015 with a 20 year career in Testing which has involved working with a wide variety of hardware, software and firmware. This has included testing things as diverse as Digital Video Cameras, Security Systems and Fruit Machines.
David specialises in test automation and has used his skills and experience to employ test automation in all of his roles, creating environments where the testing keeps going long after everyone has gone home for the night.
David lives in Cheltenham and when there’s no DIY or car maintenance to be done spends his spare time enjoying a smoky whiskey and watching sport or trying to improve his Spanish.
Ryan joined Enterprise Study in 2004 as a Software Developer. His current role is focused in support - providing robust solutions and continually improving our software.
Ryan is passionate about ensuring that our software is reliable and that customers are happy and well supported. With a background in product and customer support his experience brings considerable benefit to our customers. As a long serving employee Ryan has built up extensive system knowledge and has a good understanding of the training industry and the challenges faced by our customers.
He enjoys spending time with his family, playing sport and having a jam on his guitar or accordion. In fact...he’s just awesome!!
The Implementation And Support Team
David joined the Enterprise Study team in September 2011 as the main point of contact for our Support helpdesk.
His main task is helping our customers with any questions, requests or issues that may arise and getting them resolved in an efficient manner. He’s passionate about keeping our customers happy and making sure we understand how they’re using the system, in an effort to make sure everyone’s getting the best possible return on investment. He’s also the chap responsible for our short training videos, available on YouTube.
Originally from “sunny” Bognor Regis, David moved to Cheltenham to study in 2005 and decided to stay after graduating. When he’s not writing glowing self-biographies for company websites, he’s pursuing his interests in art, music, technology and pro-wrestling.
Paul joined the ES family in April 2013 and works closely alongside David Stone to assist both clients and TLN suppliers with any system queries.
Since leaving school and college, and gaining 2 NVQs, Paul worked for the CSCI for 5 years and then joined the Meningitis Trust, staying for a further 5 years. With a keen interest in technology and helping people, being on the Support Helpdesk with Enterprise Study seemed like the perfect fit. Other responsibilities include testing new system products and features in conjunction with the development team and ensuring our customers are receiving maximum efficiency from our offerings.
Paul recently pursued one of his biggest passions, Interior Design, by gaining a professional qualification and has now been let loose on several of his family and friend’s homes, redesigning rooms. With the newly acquired qualification he can now say, “I know what I’m doing, I’m a professional!” Paul also enjoys frequenting the theatres and Lady Gaga concerts!
Trainer and User Guide Author
Sally started working with the ES team in May 2011. She has been training users on computer software for longer than she likes to admit (30 years!) and has extensive experience in managing the introduction of corporate systems that support change processes and the migration to new software platforms/versions.
Having seen and used various Learning Management Systems over the years Sally is in an ideal position to appreciate the suite of learning and compliance management tools provided by ES. Her role is to design and develop training materials and deliver courses for all the products and to keep the user guides updated – now she has completed the huge task of writing them from scratch! Sally enjoys the challenge of training new users in their own ES environment, understanding their processes and discussing how they can get maximum benefit and value from their system.
Sally lives in Taunton with her husband and two cats. When she is not working, Sally is an active member of two Charity Committees and enjoys walking, gardening, cooking and fine wine.
The Finance Team
Claire joined the company in 2007 working part time in the finance department. A whizz in Excel, she is responsible for the accounts and keeping the leadership team supplied with current figures.
Claire has lived in Charlton Kings for 20 years with her husband and son of 9 years, the latest addition to the family being a cat. She enjoys circuit training and running, preferably ending in the local, and fitting in gardening when she can.
